Service Learning & Community Engagement
At Xiugang Campus, service learning is structured, student-led, and sustained across grade levels. Students apply academic learning in real contexts, assume genuine responsibility, and reflect on their role in society. Service is not an isolated event. It is embedded in how students grow as leaders.
Student-Led Social Action
Each spring, newly elected student leaders design and execute a campus-wide fundraising initiative. They research community needs, verify nonprofit partners, conduct site visits, and lead outreach beyond campus. Students manage communication, logistics, and accountability from start to finish. The experience demands ethical judgment, resilience, and persuasive communication in real-world settings.
Year-Round Community Engagement
Throughout the academic year, students organize coastal clean-ups addressing marine pollution, lead donation drives in partnership with charitable organizations, and design advocacy campaigns linked to global frameworks such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Mentorship programs and intergenerational outreach initiatives further strengthen empathy and social awareness.
Immersive Service Experiences
Winter and summer volunteer service camps place students in direct collaboration with underserved communities. Preparation includes training in service ethics and instructional strategies. In the field, students support educational programs and community initiatives, then engage in structured reflection that connects experience to broader questions of equity and responsibility.
